Featured Region: East of England

The East of England looks set for rapid growth, having seen the fastest growth in starts of any UK region over both the three and twelve month periods to April. Both our data on project starts and official output figures paint a picture of growth with solid foundations, with increases across the residential, infrastructure and commercial sectors.

Indications from Glenigan’s data on project starts and planning approvals suggests that the residential and infrastructure sectors of the industry will see stronger growth than non-residential work. Public sector workloads have remained relatively strong compared to many other UK regions, but growth in the commercial sectors, though positive, may be more gradual over 2014.

The East of England consists of the following Counties:  Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk.
