Network Rail is seeking contractors for a track renewal framework worth up to £450 million. The contract will involve the design, plan, manage and deliver plain line track works across the UK rail network. Plain line track works include replacement of rail and sleepers or ballast cleaning. Associated signalling and power supply works will also be needed. The projects will be worth a total of £350 million to £450 million and the deal will span five years with the potential for up to five renewals. The deadline for tenders was 12th March 2014.

Tenders are currently being invited for the demolition and land remediation framework contract for Dounreay Site Restoration at Dounreay in Thurso, Scotlands. The £25 million framework will be carried out over a period of 10 years and will include the following activities, but not limited to: 1. removal of asbestos contaminated material; 2. removal of all loose fixtures and fittings; 3. undertake soft strip, segregate all fixtures fittings and dispose at a suitably licensed facility; 4. demolition of building down to floor slab; 5. recover and process all recyclable aggregate material; 6. recover as much ferrous and non ferrous metals; 7. fill all voids, pits and make site safe; 8. site clearance; 9. undertake any required radiological and non radiological land remediation.
Detailed plans have been submitted for a scheme by Lidl (UK) Ltd at 7 to 9 Yarmouth Road in North Walsham. This scheme comprises of the demolition of the existing Lidl supermarket and residential unit and the construction of a replacement Lidl supermarket of 2,160sqm with 76 car parking spaces. HTC Architects are the architects who designed this £1.9 million scheme.
